A warm welcome from Newquay Evangelical Church! It will be great to see you whether you're down on holiday, live locally, or you're thinking of moving to Cornwall and looking for a church.

Here's a guide to our Sunday morning services (see evening service notes further down - also see our What’s On page for any special services or changes). Let's talk you through the day ...

(By the way, if you’re down on holiday with a dog, it’s OK to bring them with you if they will settle. We wouldn’t want you to miss out on the service!)

Time: Our Sunday morning service starts at 10.30am and typically finishes around 11.45am (with tea and coffee after). Don't worry if you arrive at the last minute (or after the service has started). You'll find a seat OK.

Location: We're in the centre of Newquay on the main shopping street at 45 Bank St, TR7 1DJ, just up from Costa Coffee. Our church building is easy to recognise ….

Parking: On-street parking can often be found from Oct 1-April 1 (car parks may have cheaper prices then too). But during the Spring/Summer, you probably need the public car parks. There are four large ones nearby:

(5min walk) Manor Car Park: Take a ticket from the entry machine and pay when you leave at the pay station. You can then pay for whatever time you've used by contactless/card/Apple/Google Pay, cash or mobile phone call (with a bank card). Up to 1 hour = £2.20;  1-2 hours = £4.40; 2-3 hours = £5.50; 3-4 hours = £6.50; 24 hours =£10. 6pm-Midnight =£2.00

(5-10min walk): St George's Road Car Park: Same deal as above with prices and payment methods.

(10min walk, down a hill) Mount Wise Car Park: Same price as the two car parks above. But it doesn't have the contactless/card option. Either pay using cash or via a phonecall on your mobile (and your bank card). The call takes about 5 mins. The car park app is another option.

(10-15min walk, up/down a hill) Tregunnel Hill Car Park: This car park is further out but most likely to have space at the very busiest times, such as summer school holidays. Up to 1 hour = £1.00;  1-2 hours = £2.00; 2-3 hours = £3.00; 3-4 hours = £4.80; 24 hours =£6.00. (4pm-9am No charge). Same payment options as Mount Wise Car Park.

On your arrival: Our ushers will welcome you. There is a WC (inc suitable for people with disabilities) in the reception area. If it's busy, just ask the ushers and they can direct you to other WCs - to the left of the stage - or you can find them using the map below.

Bibles: If you need a Bible, just ask the ushers for one. We normally use the NIV but preachers may use or quote from the NKJV, ESV or other versions sometimes. Some people bring Bibles, others use phone apps, or just listen.

Hymnbooks: We put the words of hymns and songs on an overhead projector for everyone, so we don't give out hymnbooks.

Seating: Sit wherever you like. We have nice, comfy chairs. There should be plenty of room. If the church is full, just ask the usher to help you find a seat. If you prefer, you can take the steps up to the church balcony.

What happens in the service?  The service includes hymns/songs, prayer, and a message of about 30mins that's based on a Bible reading. Teaching God's word in a clear and practical way is the objective of our church.

Families with children: It's great to have you with us! Scroll up this page and you’ll see the floorplan and where you can find our baby changing station, extra WCs and the creche room where you’re welcome to take little ones anytime if they won’t settle.

After about 20mins in the service, children tend to go out for creche and junior church (the speaker will announce this). Visiting children are welcome to join us - and parents too if you wish! Alternatively, stay with us during the service. Whatever works best for you.

Taking the offering: Half-way through the service, we'll take up an offering for God's work here in Newquay. Some people give this way, others give online, and some prefer not to give (just let the offering bag pass by, that's 100% OK).

Communion: We'll have the Lord's Table in the middle of our morning service on the first Sunday of the month. Please note: Only take the bread and wine if you are a born-again Christian. If you're not a Christian, or you are not sure, maybe you're thinking about things, or you would rather not for any reason, then please let the bread and wine pass by. This is 100% OK. No-one will think it's odd or unusual not to be taking communion.

After the morning service: You're very welcome to stay for tea/coffee and biscuits. It would be great to chat with you and answer any questions you have about the church, about Newquay and where to find the best pasties in town :)

Sunday evening services: These take place from 6.30-7.30pm. It's a more informal time, usually with a short word from the Bible, hymns and some open prayer. We have tea and coffee after. You're very welcome.
